Year 7 had a great time at Hollywood Bowl after school last week as they enjoyed games of ten pin bowling followed by an evening meal. The celebration marked the start of their first term in Senior School.
The close-knit nature of The Mount School ensures that all girls transition seamlessly to their senior years here, however, extra-curricular and social activities like this provide the perfect opportunity for them to cement friendships and strengthen their bond outside of the classroom environment.
Arriving in style on the school minibus, the group firstly posed for a quick group selfie before hitting the lanes. Not to pass up an opportunity for a bit of friendly competition, the girls challenged one another for the number 1 spot.
“We played two rounds, and the last round was timed so it was against the clock, but I won! I had a little competition going with India. That was only my second time going so I was impressed.” – Maggy
“We had a competition to see who could win between us both, I love competitions, but I never win! I had never been bowling before this trip though. It was so fun and the food was really good! – India
After the games, the group had a chance to sit down and enjoy a feast of American food. “We had a choice between hot dog, chicken burger or nachos. Vakare had nachos – she shared them with us though as it was a massive sharing bowl” The sociable evening gave the girls a fantastic opportunity to relax and have fun together, ensuring lots of giggles were had.
Maggy, added “Our whole class came along, and it was really good – we have lots of new people in our class, so it was nice for them too.”
Daisy, who has recently joined The Mount in Year 7 said she had lots of fun with her new friends and is settling in well.
What a fantastic way to begin the start of Senior School, socialising with new friends and spending quality time together.
