Junior School girls enjoyed a fantastic Christmas Campfire in our onsite Woods this afternoon.
In their bubbles, the girls gathered around the firepit area. Miss Harvey and Mrs Govier were on hand to show them how to toast marshmallows on the firepit, without burning their marshmallows (or themselves!). The girls checked first that they had their hair tied back and no toggles which might spill into the firepit. Four at a time, they took their positions around the firepit. “We rested our marshmallow over the coals, but not on it, and let it toast. A couple of the marshmallows started to burn a little but they were okay,” said Lia (Y2).
“I’ve done this a couple of times before, but this is the first time we’ve been able to use the big marshmallows,” said Emilia (Y6).
