The Mount Pre-School offers high quality term time education from the age of three (rising two). Children may join at any point during the term they turn 3 years old, subject to availability.

For families looking for longer hours, depending on the child’s needs and stage of development we can accept children for longer days. This can be discussed further with Pre-School staff.

It is our expectation that children attend a minimum of five sessions per week. This is to help children settle into and get the most out of the setting. If you think your daughter would be suited to fewer sessions please discuss this with our Admissions Department.
Early Years Funding.
As an approved childcare setting, The Mount School York is able to access the Early Years Funding which will be claimed on behalf of eligible and registered parents claiming either 15 hours or 30 hours’ free childcare. For information on Early Years Funding, please visit www.gov.uk/apply-30-hoursfree-childcare. Additional unfunded hours will be charged to parents at £6.50 per hour.

A supplementary charge is payable for each morning session or for each full day, whether funded or unfunded. This charge covers services in addition to childcare that we provide such as specialist qualified teachers, a bespoke creative curriculum, outdoor education on-site, PE and language sessions, increased staff to pupil ratios, consumables, high quality meals and the experience of being part of our wider all-encompassing Quaker ethos.
Supplementary charge for a full day: £8.00
Supplementary charge for a morning session: £5.00
Invoices are issued termly in advance, based on booked sessions. Any extra sessions, breakfast club or after-school care will be billed in arrears the following term.
A deposit of £100 is required to confirm the acceptance of a place. This is simply a deposit, not an extra fee and it will be returned to the parents when the child leaves Pre-School. Should the child transfer to Reception, the £100 will not be returned and will become the non-refundable Acceptance Fee of a place in Junior School. Those children who are joining Reception from Pre-School will be given priority for the choice of Pre-School sessions available.
To register your child for a place at The Mount Pre-School please return the Registration and Sessions form (available from the Admissions Team) along with a £50 registration fee. On the form, you will be able to indicate the sessions you would like for your child, we will try our best to accommodate these; however, they are all subject to availability. Once the form and registration fee have been received, a member of our admissions team will get in touch to discuss your child’s needs and to arrange a taster session for them in the Pre-School.
