Fraud Blocker

At The Mount Junior School, our priority is to create an environment where pupils feel safe and most importantly happy. In our experience happy children learn!

Our staff are hardworking and dedicated professionals.

Their relationship with the children in their care is one of understanding, respect and encouragement. All Junior School teachers are skilled at ensuring pupils are able to settle into school life, become familiar with their surroundings and make new friends.  Our small class sizes allow a real bond to develop between teacher and child.  Teachers spend time with each pupil getting to know them, how they learn and how they can achieve their personal best.

Caring for others

Being a small school allows The Mount to create a positive family atmosphere as children and teachers throughout the school look out and care for one another.  We know The Mount Junior School is a happy place – it is evident by the smiles on our children’s faces!

Each day, all Junior School pupils join together for a School Assembly. Each term our assemblies follow a theme covering a range of social and emotional aspects of learning, including self-awareness, motivation, social skills and managing feelings.

School Council

Our School Council and Eco and Sport Committees reinforces the value placed on pupils’ voices and thoughts. Each committee comprises of representatives from across the school, and pupils are encouraged to approach their Year Representative or Class Teacher if they would like an issue raised.

On-site Nurse

The School has its own Health Centre within the grounds, staffed by qualified Nursing Staff. Should children feel unwell during the day, the Nurse is available to take care of them. Many of our Junior School staff also hold qualifications in First Aid. Children receive immediate, quality care should any health situation arise.
