The extraordinary initiative by Mount College PeaceJam students to appeal to York schools for support of the LifeBag appeal has exceeded all expectations.
Originally, the pupils thought they would source “around 50 bags”, says Annabelle Hill, the College II pupil who drove the project.
The final shipment of LifeBags to Greece is about to go and the girls have, with the invaluable help of pupils from Fulford, Millthorpe, Manor, Bootham and St Paul’s Primary Schools, been able to send more than 500 LifeBags to Greece to aid refugee children, especially lone child refugees.
