Junior School Orchestra rehearsals were in full swing over lunchtime last week as pupils prepared for performances of Tango & Cha Cha and Haydn Rocks.
The orchestra is larger than ever with 22 pupils taking part. Each Junior School pupil showcased their talents across a range of different instruments, including, drums, piano, violin and flute. Music Teacher, Ms Bembridge is extremely proud of the girls and their commitment to learning to play multiple instruments. Many pupils choose to play a variety of instruments to broaden their musical talents, “It is unusual for a Junior Schools to have an orchestra with such a range and balance of instruments. I think it reflects well on the music provision we offer at The Mount Junior School.”
During rehearsal the children were able to choose which piece they played first. The girls showed overwhelming excitement to perform each option, emphasising their passion for music.
