Excitement Abounds as The Mount School York launches online Piano Competition.

The Mount School Music Department has launched it’s first online Piano Competition. Music enthusiasts and pianists from around the world are invited to submit video entries to the multiple categories. The competition aims to showcase the exceptional talent of pianists and provide a platform for them to exhibit their skills, without the expense of travel in a friendly yet competitive environment.

The competition is open to pianists of any nationality, from children to pianists up to 35 years old. With an esteemed panel of judges consisting of Musicians from The Mount School and Ackworth School, participants can expect fair and insightful evaluations of their performances.

To enter the competition pianists must submit a video performance consisting of a solo piano repertoire. The performances will be judged by staff from The Mount School and Ackworth School. Performances are marked independently by three judges and a point system will be applied for accuracy, interpretation and style, sense of performance and communication and technical prowess. Prizes will be awarded to the competitor with highest points in each category.

In addition to the glory and recognition that winners will receive, the competition boasts an impressive prizes, ranging from £100 – £300 and there will also be special Scholarship awards for those who wish to study at The Mount School or Ackworth School. The application deadline is 31 October.
