Young Writers Get Published

Year 7 have been recognised by the Young Writers’ competition for their mini sagas ‘Incorporating an integer’.

The girls combined their curriculum subjects as they enjoyed using maths in their creative writing pieces, Emily said “I am really proud of my story and I hope to go through to the next round and win”

Each pupil in year 7 who entered did so well that they have all had their work published, further emphasising the high calibre of work produced.

Over the Christmas break, the pupils produced posters, character profiles, games and reviews for their reading project. Vakare enjoyed the story Moondog so much she made this huge collage for her reading project work out of tiny pictures of dogs. We think you will agree it looks top dog!

Mrs Nuttall was immensely proud of everyones efforts, adding “It was great to see what a range of books they have enjoyed from Dickens to Michelle Magorian to Sophie McKenzie to Alice Oseman. Well done girls.”
