Our International Summer Schools are a chance for pupils to prepare for study in the UK or improve their language skills with academically intensive but fun and interactive lessons in their English, core curriculum and main options choices.
Girls can progress in an environment that has supported outstanding educational achievement for over 200 years, so they can grow and fully develop this summer.
The Mount offers a robust, reliable and trusted 2-week on-site summer school experience to enhance and enrich the acquisition of different skill sets to prepare for the next level of study in English.
The purpose of the summer school is an English language-centered experience that develops new learning techniques, practices and learning styles. With leadership from Mount School teachers, pupils will be able to enjoy and achieve progression in our fourth term.

Trips & Activities
Each week there are two full days of trips and activities. Trips on offer include adventure challenges, as well as visits to local cultural attractions. Due to York’s excellent accessibility, there are also opportunities for excursions to major cities such as London and Leeds.
All visits are led and supervised by our staff, with younger students accompanied at all times, Older students are given the opportunity to have unsupervised time to encourage them to immerse themselves in their surroundings. Trips, Sightseeing and cultural visits don’t just offer students adventure but time to put to the test their speaking and listening skills.

The Mount School is situated in the beautiful and historic city of York. It is a city with Roman roots, where ancient walls surround contemporary shops and vibrant eateries. Within a 10-minute walk of The Mount, there are museums, shopping centres, theatres, cinemas, sports facilities and a range of restaurants and cafes.
Perfectly placed halfway between London and Edinburgh, you can travel by train from London in 2 hours or to Manchester airport in less than one.
