Our small and differentiated classes are suitable for all levels, however, absolute beginners should consider having some English study in advance of the course so that they can benefit fully from an immersive English environment.

The Language Summer School will be taught by Mount School Teachers. All our teachers are fully qualified for the subjects that they teach and are fully DBS checked as per the standard requirements of UK schools.

Class sizes are small with a maximum of 16 per class.

Yes, at the end of the course, all students will receive a certificate of completion.

Our pastoral system is devised to provide a calm and caring environment to ensure that pupils are happy, secure and successful. We have an excellent staff-to-pupil ratio, with one residential Boarding staff member for every 10 students.

Our all-girls environment and secure school site make us one of the safest choices this summer. As a provider which is also a school, we are subject to all regulations of a fully functioning British Boarding School and we are prepared accordingly.

Students are served three meals per day in the dining hall. Our professional caterers, Wilson Vale, create a weekly menu of fresh, varied and delicious meals. Our caterers can accommodate vegetarians, allergies and dietary requirements. All meals are freshly cooked on the premises by our team of experienced chefs.

Occasionally some meals may be served in restaurants/eateries as part of the trips and excursions.

Refreshments are also made available at break times and pupils will be able to visit a local small supermarket should it be required.

There are no uniform requirements so pupils will need to bring suitable clothing for lessons and outdoor activities. A full recommended kit list will be provided to pupils ahead of their stay.

Yes, bedding and towels will be provided.

Yes, pupils will have access to an on-site laundry service.

Spending money for your daughter(s) should include enough for souvenirs or gifts and any extra snacks that may be required in addition to those already provided.

Pupils are allowed to bring a mobile phone, although they can only use them during their breaks and free time. Pupils will be encouraged to keep in touch with home. There will be access to Wi-Fi, however, usage is restricted and monitored.

To book your daughter(s) place on The Mount School’s English Language School please complete the Registration Form and return it along with the non-refundable deposit. Languageschool@mountschoolyork.co.uk

A £100 per week deposit is required on Registration. 50% of the balance is due by March 24 or within a week of booking. The full balance is due by 3 July.

All payments can be made by BACS Transfer, payable to The Mount School.

If you are unable to make your course dates after you have booked, you will be eligible for a 50% refund if you cancel before 3 July. Cancellation after 3 July will be non-refundable. All deposits are non-refundable.

Depending on your nationality you will either be able to visit the UK for up to 6 months without needing a visa OR you will be required to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa before you visit the UK.

Airport transfers from Manchester or Leeds Bradford Airport are provided free of charge. Airport transfers from London Heathrow or other UK airports are charged, the cost will be confirmed in writing with you one week in advance of your arrival and are dependent on the size of the group you are travelling with.
