The Mount School York are once again proud to announce fantastic results across the board for the 2023 LAMDA examinations. This year we have received 45 Distinctions and 9 Merits across the Junior and Senior School, with all 17 of the Junior School girls awarded Distinction.

Drama and LAMDA teacher, Mrs Buckley, reiterated the extent of the achievement and praised all the pupil’s dedication to practice; “The girls have worked incredibly hard to prepare this year, it is clear that their talent and determination has certainly paid off!”

The LAMDA examiner provided equally positive feedback for the Junior School Group exams:

Year 3 & 4– “It was lovely to meet you, Fantastic Foxes. You can engage audiences with well-projected voices that bring out the rhythm and shape of written words. Your performance style incorporates a control of pace that enhances word meaning. Well done.”

Year 5 & 6- “Thank you for sharing your work, Amazing Insects. You are an engaging group who can use voice and pace to animate written words. You are connected by rhythm and group communication. Well done.”

In Senior School, Rebecca and Lucky gained Distinctions at Gold Medal Grade 8 for Speaking in Public, and Chloe gained a Merit for Gold Medal Grade 8 Acting.

There were also girls in each year group who gained very high marks including India in Year 7 and both Emilia & Amelie in Year 8. Isla in Year 9 and Flora and Yasmine from Year 10, along with Year 11 pupils Libby and Harriet also achieved highly commendable results.

LAMDA continues to be very popular at The Mount and these results reflect the hard work, talent and creativity of each and every student.
