Congratulations to Milly (Y5) who was awarded a green Blue Peter badge for an acrostic poem she wrote about plastic waste in the ocean.
It began last month when Milly was watching the news and saw an item about the vast amount of plastic waste in the ocean and how it poses a very real hazard to wildlife. “The plastic in the ocean is killing a lot of wild animals. They showed a turtle which was surrounded by loads of plastic,” said Milly.
Moved to take action, Milly wrote an acrostic poem, which she showed to her parents who helped her post it off to Blue Peter.
“The badge and award arrived in the post last night,” said Milly.
