Monsters! Creative Writing Competition for York Literature Festival

Calling all budding writers and poets!!  The Mount is joining with the York Literature Festival to bring you Monsters – a creative writing competition open to writers age 18 and under.

In honour of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s gothic tale, Frankenstein, The Mount School and the York Literature Festival are delighted to invite young authors and poets to a creative writing competition on the theme of Monsters.

Entries

Entrance is open to Under 11s, 12-15 year olds and 16-18 year olds.  Categories for entry are: short story; poetry; flash fiction.

  • Age groups: Under 11s; 12-15 year olds; 16-18 year olds
  • Categories: Short Story; Poetry; Flash Fiction (16-18 year olds only)

Send in your submission to yorkliteraturefestival@mountschoolyork.co.uk or via post to Monsters Creative Writing Competition, The Mount School, Dalton Terrace, York YO24 4DD by the 1st of March. Judges decisions will be announced between 10 and 12 March, with the winners invited to read out their work at a ceremony on Friday 23 March at The Mount from 6.00pm-8.00pm.
