Congratulations to Millie and Verity in Year 9, who won third place at the York Civic Trust debate in the Guildhall on Wednesday 16 November. Their assigned topic was “Two hours in York is a waste of time”.
The judges commented that the top three teams stood out for being highly articulate, working well as a team and using humour as a rhetorical device.
A total of eight schools took part in the event.
