The Mount Holds its own at Great Big Dance Off, Halifax
The Great Big Dance Off, in Halifax, is open to schools and dance schools across The North. The Mount School’s first year of entering, resulted in us being placed an amazing fifth out of 37 schools, such an incredible achievement.
The Mount Dance Club team devised and performed a contemporary dance piece to a moving ballad.
PE Teacher & Choreographer, Miss Newman, said:
“I’m beyond delighted with our girls. New to the competition, they danced with such commitment and intensity, with real tears at times, that we scored very highly, coming a superb fifth overall.
What made me particularly proud was that we scored a 10 for enjoyability and eye contact, and achieved a 9 for crowd appeal. The judging panel’s scores showed the piece was moving, technically skilled and creative.
The Mount takes dance seriously and the results are here for all to see. We can’t wait to enter next time. Thank you for having us.”
