The Mount is a ‘Top 10 (Academic) Independent School in the North’ (Sunday Times Parent Power List)

The Mount School York celebrates being ranked sixth in the Top Independent Schools in the North for academic performance by The Sunday Times. An esteemed list, it’s a challenge and honour to rank in the top ten. Congratulations to the whole Mount School Community; the hard work of staff, pupils and supportive families has been recognised.

Principal David Griffiths says:

“Bravo! We already know we are a wonderful school but it’s great to have such recognition. Our exam results were exceptional alongside the diverse extra-curricular activities we offer like our Iceland, East Greenland Borealis expeditions. This demonstrates our commitment not only to academic excellence, where we continue to shine, but also our desire to provide a well-rounded education allowing pupils to pursue their life goals beyond the classroom in The Arts, Music, Academics and Sport.

“We are delighted to celebrate this achievement and I thank the whole school community for working so hard to be the best they can be. This highlights that The Mount was a well-kept secret but it’s now time to share with such deserved plaudits coming in. We are a real proposition for senior school with outstanding academics but also a happy community where we all know each other’s names. Come and visit!”

The Times piece says: “There are so many excellent schools across the north of England…the challenge is to stand out from the crowd.”

The Mount is thrilled to have done just that and looks forward to going from strength to strength.
