The Mount U15 netball team has worked incredibly hard this season and was deservedly rewarded by making it to the final of York Schools Netball League today, and winning!
After an outstanding semi-final against Fulford, our U15s faced the final against Bootham, in a local Quaker derby!
An exciting, nail-biting match saw The Mount scoop victory with a final score of 30-15. Bootham were worthy opponents and kept the Mount girls on their toes to the last whistle.
Chloe’s relentless efforts as Goal Defence saw her awarded Player of the Match.
Mrs Newman, said, “This was amazing and phenomenal. A Huge well done to the whole team. This was a superb team effort from you all. Thank you. The final lived up to the excitement and build up.
The thing I admired most on the day was the fast-paced end-to-end action. Our girls excelled both defensively and on the attack.
The journey to today was one of resilience and genuine teamwork. I’m so immensely proud of members of this talented U15 team. I look forward to seeing what these champions can achieve next. What a day!”
