Fun & Fitness at Annual YSSN Festival of Swimming at The Mount

The Tenth Annual York Sport School Network (YSSN) Festival of Swimming at The Mount was another amazing success with the usual comradery and good-natured competition.

It was wonderful to cheer each other on with pupils from so many schools across York giving their all, in York’s deepest swimming pool.

Huge thanks to St Paul’s, St Wilfrids, Poppleton Road, Poppleton Ousebank, Knavesmire, St Aelred’s and Rufforth for joining The Mount School for such a superb day of fun and fitness, and to Andy Pope from YSSN for organising again.

The day was all about inclusive participation – meaning everyone had a winning day just by taking part – but for those who thrive on competition, there were winners across all schools. The Mount girls won all their individual races and gave a big thumbs up for a day to remember.

Andy Pope from YSSN said:

“The Mount is a great venue to host our fantastic annual swimming event, a highlight of school calendars. It’s been held here for ten years now and we’re grateful to The Mount for hosting free of charge when other venues would have been costly.”

Debbie Adams from Adams Aquatics – our on-site swim school – said:

“I feel quite emotional. It was an honour to put this event on to welcome so many schools for an inclusive celebration of swimming.”

Adams Aquatics is offering half-price swimming lessons this half term as new swim teachers complete their training. Please visit their website for contact details: www.adamsaquatics.co.uk
