Katelyn To Attend Future Textiles Youth Seminar

During next week’s half-term break, Katelyn in Year 10 will be travelling to Scotland to attend a ‘Future Textiles Youth Seminar’ run collaboratively by UK-German Connection, with The Prince’s Foundation, and the Fashion Council Germany.

Katelyn was successful in securing one of only 40 places on the seminar which will offer young pupils from across the UK and Germany the chance to go behind the scenes of the fashion industry and explore what the future of textiles could look like.

Scheduled across five days in Scotland, attendees will participate in several creative workshops, as well as informative talks and discussions surrounding sustainable fashion practice and cultural exchange, delivered by industry experts.

Participants will develop practical design skills in a number of exciting handcrafting workshop opportunities, including natural dying, hand knitting, sewing and machine skills that Katelyn can apply to her future creative practice.
