History Pupils Reflect at Holocaust Memorial

Last week Year 9 and 10 History pupils visited Beth Shalom Holocaust Memorial Centre in a moving and educational school trip to the museum.

The centre is dedicated to informing the younger generations of the choices everyday citizens were forced to make and their impact and contributions to the Holocaust.

The trip aimed to develop the pupil’s knowledge of the events surrounding the Holocaust and build upon their awareness and understanding of the causes and complexities of it. Alongside the traditional museum exhibitions, pupils also had the opportunity to hear from a Holocaust survivor as they spoke of their experiences and memories of the time.

Outside, the museum welcomes visitors to walk around the Memorial Gardens. The beautifully landscaped, 1 –acre site offers a peaceful and tranquil area for visitors to reflect and where individuals can remember their loved ones.
