Ian Murphy workshop with College I

Pupils from College I spent the day working with renowned British contemporary artist Ian Murphy, who invited them to explore and replicate the 4-stage creative process he follows.

The Artwork created by the pupils’ is evidence of what a wonderful day had been had.

Head of Art, Ms Milton, said “It was wonderful to see our pupils become so immersed in this creative process that aligned with his own works of art. I would like to thank Ian for imparting his expert knowledge to our pupils who produced some amazing outcomes, they were certainly taken out of their comfort zone.” 

As a fine art creator, Izzy was keen to explore the techniques and methods used by Ian, “For fine artists it is all about thinking about the idea and then you use the medium that is most appropriate to your concept. I haven’t done something like this before, and this is insane! I feel like it’s very effective and I like the fact that he uses layers, I like the depth and the meaning behind it on his pieces.”
