Yuki Reflects on Flying the Boarding Nest & Next Steps

Former College II Senior Leadership Team member, Yuki joined her College II peers in delivering a relatable, yet meaningful speech as part of the Foundation Meeting celebrations early this year. As she prepares to start the next chapter of her education, we look back on the powerful words of wisdom she bestowed on the next generation of Mount School pupils.

Yuki joined us in year 10 and spent her time here with us as a boarding pupil, enabling her to immerse herself fully in the whole Mount School experience and enjoy a plethora of excursions and day trips with her friends on weekends.

‘I have really enjoyed the special community in the Boarding House, we feel like a family. Most importantly everyone is kind, and we care about each other which is special. When I came to The Mount in Year 10 there was lots of things I did not know how to do. The boarding staff were really caring and helpful whenever I needed them.

Still today they support me and help me with my studies. The Boarding House really feels like home, having a big room has been lovely and most importantly there has been space for all of my clothes!

There are many activities I have enjoyed over the years, but Go Karting is the one I have enjoyed the most. It is exciting and I have always won. My advice to boarders is to enjoy this time, make the most of it, enjoy the activities and have fun!
