Emily in Year 9 made a triumphant return to competitive tennis recently following a short break from tournament competitions. With words of encouragement from The Mount School and Principal David Griffiths in particular, Emily has reinstated her position as a gifted contender in the sport.
The talented sportswoman has recently won her last two Singles tennis tournaments, representing the U14 age category. Emphasising her skills on the court further, Emily also achieved third place in the Doubles Yorkshire County Tournament. Although Emily entered these tournaments on an individual basis, she also represents clubs in the County leagues, as well as attending Yorkshire County training.
Emily currently plays for Goole Tennis Club, and Down the Line Tennis based at York St John University Tennis Centre. Having played the sport since she was only 7 years old, Emily first developed a love for the game, before turning her hand to regular competitive play over this past year where she often excels.
Congratulations Emily!
