Intrepid Explorers Return

Our intrepid explorers have returned to home soil following their 3 week expedition to the remotest part of Iceland. They visited Norðurstrandir in the Vestfirðir, the isolated North-west part of the country.

The party of College girls and staff members of the Mount School Borealis Society were greeted by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Iceland, Dr Bryony Mathew on the final leg of their journey on 23rd July. The UK Ambassador to Iceland and former Mount School pupil kindly welcomed the expedition team to a reception held at the British Embassy in Reykjavik.

Bryony attended The Mount School before heading to study Experimental Psychology at University College, Oxford. She then went on to gain a Masters Degree in Biological Anthropology from the University of Durham and a PhD in Neuroscience from University College, London.

Bryony and her family provided a wonderful end to the expedition and her hospitality was greatly appreciated.
