Today, The Mount School’s Music Department held the first of the Spring Term lunchtime Music recitals series.
Each Thursday, staff and pupils from the school are invited to enjoy a selection of music performed by some of The Mount’s many talented musicians and Music Scholars.
The first musician to take to the stage was Year 11 pupil Madeleine. She performed three stunning pieces of music on her violin, including the enchanting Giga. Madeleine was joined by Year 12 pupil Nessa, on the recorder for a duet of Green Sleeves to a Ground. Nessa, also played Jacob Van Eyck’s Doe Daphne D’over Schoone Maeght, expertly demonstrating the depth of the musical instrument.
Mrs Derbyshire, The Mount’s Head of Music commented, “Well done to Maddi and Nessa. They both played beautifully despite some initial nerves. Thank you to everyone who came and supported them. We are really looking forward to more recitals to come . . .’
