Medals galore! Chloe and sisters, Emma and Jess, are big names in the Yorkshire swimming circuit. Recently they all went home with a cluster of gold medals in their age groups from the York City Baths Club (YCBC) Championships, an interclub gala. Huge congratulations to all three.
Chloe, Year 10, achieved three golds and silvers, plus a bronze. “It’s hard work but worth it,” she said.
Emma, Year 9 – nursing a shoulder injury – showed resilience to still achieve a gold, silver and bronze. “My shoulder problem has made me realise how much swimming means to me, not being able to perform as well as usual. In the future I aim to go far in the sport once my shoulder has healed. All three of us do,” she said.
Jess, Year 7 – powered to the finish each time, winning all the golds available that day, an amazing nine in total. “Swimming is a hardworking hobby but a really good one!” she said.
We hope your parents have excellent carpentry skills because you’re all going to need a bigger trophy cabinet! The three girls also performed exceptionally well in the Yorkshire and Regional competitions in October and November.
Jess revealed she already has 40 medals at home, including 26 golds!
That number is set to grow with the YCBC Winter Extravaganza this weekend. Watch this space…
The girls also enjoy swimming for school in our ‘deepest pool in York’ which compliments their club training. For strength and conditioning they have access to our state-of-the-art gym, open to the public out of school hours, and our pool is managed by Adams Aquatics which run swimming lessons and will offer lifeguarding and scuba soon.
